This is my mother, the matriarch of
many
cousins, as their parents have
passed away.
This photo was taken by her brother
who died
a little over 40 days ago. They
spent the summer
taking daily walks by the
Mediterranean Sea.
I posted this photo on Facebook at
the time
captioned, “This is
Happiness.”
This week, I took my mother to meet
with an
oncologist. She informed him prior
to her
diagnosis less than a week ago, she
WAS happy.
His response was so phenomenal...
“you can still
be happy.” As he spoke these words,
my mother’s
facial expression went from tearful
and sad, to
amazed and
hopeful.
Whatever challenges you are facing
today,
remember this dear doctor’s words,
you too
can “still be happy!”
