The Science of Happiness Part 1: Hippocampus

The Hippocampus is the area of the human
brain responsible for happiness & positive
memories. Daily I go outside and sit for
at least 20 minutes. I can imagine this may
be funny to watch. I am not smoking, nor
on my phone. I simply bask in the sun. This
is empirically proven to boost positive mood,
broaden thinking, and it improves working
memory by increasing serotonin in the brain.
This is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate learning, mood, sleep, sexuality, & appetite.
Not only do we benefit from a day outside
with an increase in serotonin,
it is also commonly found in Turkey!

So let’s eat Turkey and go outside today😊 for
our mental health!
